teaching is such a weird profession. only in teaching would somebody actually WELCOME the onset of a migraine that brings about the fuzzy little vision dots and forces her to leave work so that she can go home, take some medicine and sleep for a while to get rid of the migraine, then get back up and grade essays for 8 hours. ironically, after grading for said amount of time, the migraine returns, thus forcing the teacher back into stagnation.
a funny sidenote: coffee's interpretation of why his mother's signature looked an awful lot like his handwriting was that the migraine was affecting my vision... and that it would look like her handwriting again when my vision was back to normal.
on a different note:
medieval philosophers believed that three and seven were the two most significant numbers in existence - for obvious reasons (they believed in the trinity, they sat around all the time watching the seventh samurai, etc.). for that reason (and personal experience), i think that things happen in threes. especially bad things. there are definite patterns in the universe (especially during the holidays). the "bad things happen in threes" pattern of late:
1. friend A's boyfriend's sister dies in car accident
2. friend B's bestfriend's brother dies in car accident
3. friend C's student is stabbed during school day and has to be air-lifted to memphis
here's hoping that the pattern has been completed and that the student is okay. think positive thoughts, bloggers of the world!
