the principal's new D/F policy:

if a student receives a D or an F on his or her report card, he or she will receive 5 licks per week for the next nine weeks.

today, during an "addressing Ds/Fs with the students" meeting, the principal asked the students who objected to the new policy to stand. none did. nothing like bullying the children into compliance. if he'd bothered to pay attention, he would have noticed one particularly opinionated teacher shifting from sitting with the students to standing behind them. i need a sign.
