05 August 2003

tonight's shopping list (walmart):

play-doh (1)
jenga (1)
small plastic containers (6)
wintergreen lifesavers (1 bag)
funky texture posterboard (1 package of 5)
mounting tape (3 packages)
total spent on supplies for my classroom... $18.76

why is it that the closer i get to the school year, the more i shop at walmart? and why is it that the walmart (more and more) feels like a community gathering place? i ran into the mother of one of last year's seniors... she said that his only regret about graduating was that he wouldn't have me for a second year. how sweet is that? lol, she also knew about the blue streaks that i put in my hair at the end of last may in honor of my classes in which everybody passed. how cool is that? i guess being shocking sometimes works in my favor. while i was talking to james's momma, a woman from one of the M.B. churches i visited last spring stopped by to ask me when i was coming back. this sunday, for anybody who's curious and looking for something to do from 10 - 1 or 2...

more good news... got my class schedules today. my english 4 classes are fantastic. i'll be upset if any of my old students transfers out of my class. we're so going to drop back into the "room 19 rhythm." i'm so excited! and SUCH a dork. sorry, dear readers, for being so one-dimensional lately. i'll be normal again come september.
