21 July 2003

the good news...
there were no basketball-sized bursts of flame tonight when my roommate lit the pilot light on the water heater after a weekend of cold showers, dirty dishes and general hot-water frustration. it only took 20 minutes and a phone call to my father, who suggested looking for instructions, before we figured out exactly how to light the silly thing. go, girl power.

the bad news...
the dreaded migraine has returned. third time in a month. if anybody has any wild new suggestions for getting rid of them, please let me know. and if you tell me to take medicine, i will curse your children. i'm already hopped up on drugs for them.

the other almost news...
i'm in boy withdrawl... i was telling a friend of mine yesterday about dumping the boy toy here due to ethical considerations, and i was in a foul mood, being all fed up with males in general at the moment because of the "it's always, always about sex" issue (normally, i'm all for sex, but there has to be something more going on for me to bother with an ongoing relationship - plus, i was mildly irratated, slightly irrational and prone to exaggeration yesterday)... his response? "well, i can come over and make you feel better, baby." what the fuck? did ya not just hear me? FOR REAL, gentlemen. this is why there are stereotypes about all males being driven by sex at every waking moment!!!

btw, my vote for the surprisingly good video of the summer goes to tears of the sun. feel free to cast your votes for good summer videos in the comments section. it's surprisingly bare lately. off to watch exit to eden and drink girlie beer. kisses to all.
