second-years on parade...

we met the first years today - briefly. well, rather, they met us, since germain didn't make them go through the whole drawn-out procedure of introducing themselves to us. at least we have faces now to go with the vague idea of who they might be. we have a "nighttown adventure" planned tonight, so - hopefully - we can actually sit down with these strange beings and get to know them a little bit.

for those of you wondering whatever happened with the grade... i talked to him today, and i think he's probably going to let me write a report on an education-related book to bump my grade up. we got into a baby argument about what constitutes an A. he says perfection. i say 93 (which is, obviously, not perfection). sigh. oh well. we're not going to agree, but i have a strong desire to leave this program with a 4.0, so i'll suck it up and work a little bit to get it. i'm going to the library after class to work on homework, to get the damn book, and to kind of get my shit together before we go out tonight. these ramblings aren't really for anybody else, more for me to get my mind in order. =)

thid - and final - thing to note. i received my final confirmation that my manuscript has been accepted to the english journal today (via email). how rockin cool is that? there are all of these papers to sign and send back (like - "author consent" and "author biography" - hee hee, they called me an author!!!!), but it should be getting pulled together for the release in november. who knew that they were this organized? not me, that's for sure.

i know this rambles more like a diary today than a blog, but sometimes you just gotta talk. and when mom's not around, you lucky ducks get to hear it instead.
